The new home of the MIT Federal Credit Union consisted of the tenant fit-out of two floors in the 700 Technology Square Building in Cambridge. Construction included structural modifications to the building and interior build-up.
Unique to this project were the information technology and security installations and equipment. In addition, the very innovative and geometrical architectural design translated into complex layouts demanding quality control of the finishing trades.
In order to achieve the very aggressive construction schedule – 12 weeks – Barr & Barr, Inc. self performed carpentry and drywall trades and implemented specific subcontractual requirements from the procurement phase to ensure long-lead items delivery.
The keys to this project were excellent Owner and Architect integration and collaboration which resulted in their
complete satisfaction with the final project
